This stencil was originally cut out after closely witnessing a black woman be assaulted at my hometown. For several reasons, including fear, I did not take this protest to the streets at the time. It ended up being kept in the back of a drawer for two years when I finally saw the opportunity to talk – through art – about the various forms of violence that we – as women – suffer, whether physical or mental.
"It was a punch" – This art intervention was part of a Collective Exhibition called "We" at a local gallery in Curitiba, on March 2023.
